How to Apply Online for Royal Navy Recruitment 2023:
Once the applicants have checked their eligibility criteria, the joining procedure has been mentioned below.
- Registering your Interest – The 1st step is to choose the role which you think is right for you. There are so many rating roles available, from working as a Chef to being an Engineering Technician. Each role has its own specific eligibility criteria, qualification & entry requirement depending on its discipline & skill set.
- Recruiting Test – We shall then arrange for you to take the NSRT (which stands for Naval Service Recruiting Test), which all potential recruits have to finish. NSRT tests your general intellectual ability, & how well the applicants perform shows their ability to cope with the technical & academic aspects of training for the role one has chosen. Â
- Interview – Then the team will invite you to a formal interview to assess the suitability of the applicants for a career in the Royal Navy, & specifically the role which you’ve chosen. This is much like any other kind of job interview, so you should prepare accordingly & ask your AFCO for help if needed.
- Medical & Eye Tests – The medical & eye examination are quite comprehensive because life in Royal Navy is physically demanding.
Your tests must be finished by one of our doctors who have been approved by the Ministry of Defence. - Fitness Test – Before you can join you will have to pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test, which includes finishing a 2.4km run on a treadmill within a given time, at a fitness center near you. You will require to be in the best possible shape to have the best chance of passing, which will also help with basic training. Some roles will also need further interviews at this point. Whether the interview will take place or not depends on the branch the applicants have applied for.
- Pre-Royal Navy Course – Once you have been given an entry date, you will need to attend a four-day assessment i.e Pre-Royal Navy Course (PRNC). It is a comprehensive physical exam, having a number of running & swimming tests, which will confirm that you are ready for entry.
- Starting of Training – Once you have passed all the stages, you will also have to qualify a Security & Reference Check. After that, you will be given complete details related to your provisional place at HMS Raleigh where you will finish your Basic Training. Your local AFCO will purchase your train ticket to help you get there. He will also provide you with some joining instructions, & tell you what kit you require. After Basic Training, you will then start the professional training which is unique to your role.
