Online qualification

The FIFA Interactive World Cup online qualification is held on PlayStation & Xbox Networks, & can be accessed via the latest version of EA Sports FIFA on PS4 and Xbox One. The players here qualify via the console playoffs where the top 16 contestants make it through to the World Cup finals.

Grand Final

  • 32 players fight in the Grand Final of the FIWC.
  • The contestants are divided into 8 groups with the top 16 contestants moving on to the knockout stage.
  • During Group Stage, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals is to be played on one console (PS4 or Xbox One).
  • The finale is a two-leg match having one game on each console. The Grand Finale is a multi-day event in which the draw & competition is broken up into 3 days.
  • The winner is crowned in a live show at the ending of the event.

World ranking

In 2016, the FIWC World Ranking was introduced so as to help seed the players in the tournament as per their preceding results. The ranking bears in mind both the qualification aspect for the ongoing edition & preceding FIWC Grand Finals.

Broadcast

One can watch the FIFA Interactive World Cup Grand Finale on YouTube & Twitch. The grand finale can be streamed live on both platforms. For the 1st time, the Final Showdown of the FIWC 2016 was also broadcast on Television. The Finale was broadcast in more than 100 countries all over the world. Fox Sports 1 broadcasted the Final live in the US (United States). The show had been moderated by a host named Kay Murray. Former US footballer Spencer Carmichael-Brown (Spencer FC) & Alexi Lalas analyzed the matches while Leigh Smith & John Strong commentated on the games. The Finale trophy was handed over by former Spanish International David Villa.
