British Army Officers Recruitment 2025:

• Generally, officer recruitment is categorized into sections: Regular (Full time) and Reservist (Part-time).
• For Regular: Fill online application form/registration.
• Fill in all mandatory fields as per the given instructions.
• The authority will be invited for an interview with your local recruiter.
• The next stage, is the Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB).
• Candidate assessment categories are in two parts: AOSB Briefing and AOSB Main Board, both take place in Westbury, Wiltshire.
• AOSB Briefing: Once your (CSM) Candidate Support Manager thinks that you are ready, you will be sent to the twenty-four (24) hour briefing.
• The candidate will be assessed on physical and practical exercises and learn how to prepare for the Main Board.
• AOSB Main Board: The Main Board will last for three and a half days. The candidate will need to be physically and mentally fit to pass, and show themselves to the best of their abilities.
• After Assessment: Once the candidate has passed, you will be given an offer of employment for you to take your place at Sandhurst.
• A similar process for Part-time officers.

As a British Citizen, British Subject under the Nationality Act 1981 or British Protected Person, you’re able to apply to join the Army.

FOR IRISH CITIZEN

As an Irish Citizen, the candidate can apply to join the regular Army. If candidate hoping to join the Army Reserve, candidate need to be already living in the UK.

FOR THE COMMONWEALTH

If candidates have lived in the UK for 5 years, and meet the residency rules (below), most welcome. Each year, we also offer limited opportunities for applicants who don’t meet these rules.
