Eligibility Criteria for Royal Air Force Recruitment Application 2024:

Nationality & Residency

To meet the Royal Air Force Recruitment nationality requirements, one needs to be one of the following:

• British national
• British citizen
• British/Dual national
• Irish Republic National
• Commonwealth citizen

Residency

• The applicants should have been a UK Residents for at least a period of 5 years immediately preceding the application
• He/she also should not have spent more than 28 days/year outside the UK within those 5 years.
• UK residents who have been living in the UK for a period of fewer than 5 years or residents who have spent more than 28 days in a year outside the UK will need more eligibility checks.

Age Requirements:

Age requirements vary from each role to the role you choose. The youngest age for applying is 15 years & nine months for the role of Airman. The oldest age 55 years for the role of a Medical Officer.

If you are under 18 years of age, then you must have consent from your parents/guardian before you apply.

Educational Requirements:

• Whatever is one’s academic background, there are so many opportunities in this field. 
• Check the educational requirements for the role you want to apply for on the official site.
• You need to have GCSEs at Grade C (Grade 4 to 5 with effect from Aug 17) or equivalent in English language, Mathematics or SCE Standard Grade 2/Scottish National 5 in English, Mathematics, and an approved technology/science-based subject.

Note – If you don’t qualify as an approved Science/Technology-based subject, you can still register for this recruitment as a qualified ICT Technician provided you are having the required English Language and mathematics grades. You will also have to achieve a slightly higher score in the relevant part of the entry test at an AFCT (which stands for Armed Forces Careers Office).

Fitness Requirements:

All the candidates must be fit so as to complete initial & specialist training, & perform their roles effectively. To check the fitness of the candidates, every candidate has to undergo 2 or 3 separate fitness tests as a part of the application procedure. Those 2 or 3 Fitness tests are  – Selection Fitness Test, PJFT (Pre-joining Fitness Test) or PRTC (stands for Pre-recruit Training Course).
